A RADCLIFFE chip shop has been served with a top award despite only being open for a couple of months.
Frydays, the Blackburn Street takeaway and restaurant, opened in August and has been awarded a top Quality Award from the Sea Fish Industry Authority.
The owner of Frydays, Mr John Dixon said: "I am thrilled to bits to get the award. It's quite an achievement considering we have not been open that long."
Inspectors spent half a day on the premises checking everything from hygiene levels to the friendliness of the staff.
And it was quite a rigorous investigation because Frydays is one of only five chip shops in the whole of Greater Manchester to have received the prestigious award.
