INSPECTOR David Shepherd and Sergeant Steve Nibloe have joined Bury's war against crime.
The police officers have taken over as the heads of Bury Township.They replace Insp Steve Ellis who has moved to a new job in Rochdale and Sgt Mick Lawler who has been promoted to Inspector at Bolton.
Insp Shepherd (39) joined Greater Manchester Police in 1980 and has worked in Rochdale and Oldham in both uniform and CID operations.
He was promoted to sergeant in 1991 and obtained his current rank twelve months ago.
Mr Shepherd is married and lives in Rochdale. He is the father of a seven-year-old boy.
Bury resident Sergeant Nibloe is also a father of one.
He joined GMP in 1986 and has spent most of his career working in the inner city area. He was promoted from a PC in 1995.
