IF YOU were out and about in St Annes on October 13, you might have looked twice if you saw the odd munchkin or perhaps Pocahontas strolling into school.
But it was just the children of Our Lady Star of the Sea School, Kenilworth Road, who were dressed up as their favourite literary characters as part of a special book day.
Mrs Joyce Warwick, literacy co-ordinator at the school, said all the pupils had enjoyed the fun-packed day.
"We had lots of different activities including a book fair, a competition and the climax was when both the children and the staff dressed up as their favourite characters," she said.
"We wanted to stress the enjoyment of reading and books and to leave the children with a day to remember."
