CLITHEROE manager Dave Burgess is hoping to have his assistant Lee Sculpher playing in the FA Vase for the home tie against Holker Old Boys tomorrow -- as he's sick of him sitting on the bench with him!
"I hope he recovers from injury as I prefer him playing than on the bench with me. It'll give me a rest from him," joked Burgess, who's feeling the pressure as the Blues try to emulate their Vase feats of reaching the final four years ago.
Andy Cowking is still sidelined for the NWC First Division side with an achilles tendon injury, Steve Denny is also out with a back problem and Sculpher is 50-50 at the moment.
"They are a Second Division side but teams raise their game for the Vase. It's hard as people expect a lot from the Vase at Clitheroe now," added Burgess.
