STARS of screen and sport will be joining guests at Rossendale Hospice's first ever annual dinner.

The Hospice's fundraising team decided to hold the starstudded event after the success of their Rossendale Woman of the Year luncheon held in June.

That day raised almost £5,500 for the Hospice and organisers are hoping the dinner at Horncliffe Mansion, Rossendale, on Saturday November 18 will raise even more cash.

Guests on the night will include Manchester United and England footballer Phil Neville, You've Been Framed presenter Lisa Riley, Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce, former Manchester United star Steve Bruce, and Frank "Foo Foo" Lamarr.

The evening includes a meal, disco and the chance to indulge in a game of chance at the fun casino provided free of charge by Harry Robson Entertainment of Stacksteads.

Hospice appeals director Liz Nelson said: "All the money raised will go to the Hospice. Each year the Hospice needs £275,000 to continue helping local people.

Only a small proportion of this comes from statutory sources and we rely on the generosity of local people to help us raise the rest."

Tickets are still available priced £35 each. For more details contact Liz Nelson on 01706 240081.
