A ROW has broken out over a charity CD featuring Preston North End players because the on-site shop is not selling it.

The CD, which has been recorded by a group of musicians and North End fans with the help of local performer Tony Slater, aims to raise money for Derian House and St Catherine's Hospice in Lostock Hall.

But the producers say the PNE kit shop called "On Side", which is run on a franchise basis, will not sell the CD on their behalf.

"The Official PNE CD" costs £4.95 and is already on sale in a number of shops in and around Preston. The Sainsbury stores in both Deepdale and Bamber Bridge are already selling the disc and also put £500 towards the cost of producing the CD.

It is also due to be launched officially at HMV in Preston town centre on November 11.

Owner of On Side, Geoff Sheard, says he was only approached in the past few days with a request to sell the CD and with out proper information about the product he would not go ahead and stock it.
