DESPITE her fear of heights, Clitheroe's Jayne Parrington is to do a sky-dive dressed as Miss Santa Claus in aid of charity.
She will plunge from an aeroplane three miles above Lancaster strapped to a parachute instructor in aid of the Kenneth MacMillan Memorial Fund.
And Jayne is to auction the space on the front of her festive outfit for a special Christmas greeting or company logo.
Her feat is being photographed by the Black Knights, who have organised the charity plunge, and pictures
Jayne set up the Kenneth MacMillan Memorial Fund with Clitheroe chum Theresa Robson. Kenneth died from a rare form of stomach cancer in June, leaving a four-week-old daughter and four-year-old son.
He was a keen singer and the fund-raising duo hope to raise cash in his memory for the recording studio at the Grand Cinema and Arts Centre, Clitheroe, when it is refurbished next year, as well as the East Lancashire Hospice Appeal.
They have so far raised nearly £2,000 and hope to raise over £500 from the sky-dive.
Jayne said: "I must admit to being a bit scared of heights, but am also quite excited. I am hoping local companies will jump at the chance of splashing their Christmas message or logo across my front in aid of this worthy cause. They will be able to use the photograph in advertising or Christmas cards."
