LANCASHIRE Police have also provided documentary evidence to Blackpool Council about complaints from the public about the Boardwalk bar.
In a letter to the Committee, police say they have received a number of complaints regarding the conduct of the premies in relation to "foul and abusive language used by staff, excessive nois and the content of some of the live shows."
Their report details:
AUGUST 5 - A passing police officer reports excessive noise from a speaker mounted on the outside wall. The officer heard the DJ swearing very loudly and causing distress to the passing public which included children.
AUGUST 11 - an ice cream vendor on the promenade complained of foul and abusive language being broadcast from the premises. A police inspector visited the premises and in the absence of a licensee warned the bars manager that the practice should stop straight away.
AUGUST 20 - Another complaint regarding foul language and lewd comments being broadcast from the premises.
AUGUST 26 - Another complaint received regarding obscenities being broadcast from the outside speaker.
SEPTEMBER 2 - Licensee spoken to by police licensing unit and local authority enforcement officer with regard to the number of complaints. The speaker was disconnected and the licensee warned. The licensee was also warned about the lewd nature of shows taking place in his club.
