A PLAY-OFF position could be attained by Blackpool if they beat Shrewsbury Town at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

Pool's four match winning run has seen them storm up to tenth position in the league table just three points from a play-off position.

The Shrews, managed by former Everton player Kevin Ratcliffe, are standing in 17th position after five wins and three draws.

MANAGER Steve McMahon has been awarded the Nationwide Division Three manager of the month award.

KEEPER Jon Kennedy is expected to keep his place in the team until the end of the season.

Kennedy has been impressive in each of his three matches, all of which have been wins, although the keeper, on loan from Sunderland, is nit fully fit.

The news raises doubts as to the future of Pool's other keepers Phil Barnes and Tony Caig.

POOL'S opponents in the first round of the FA Cup should be decided on Tuesday. Hinckley were due to play Telford this week but the match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The winners will play Blackpool on November 18.

MIDFIELDER John Hills is expected to miss the match against Shrewsbury after picking up a groin injury on Saturday. IT seems unlikely the overseas players from Lithuania and Ivory Coast will be coming to Blackpool. No contact has been made with them by the club despite initial interest by the players agent John Fashanu.

THE CLUB has announced that everybody who produces vouchers 1 - 10 from the official matchday programmes will be entitled to a 10 per cent discount in the club's shops in November.

SUPPORTERS are being urged to give themselves at least 15 minutes more time to enter the ground before the kick-off due to the current limited capacity of the ground.

The club has announced that for certain matches the East Paddock centre turnstile will not be opened.

Supporters wishing to stand in the area of the ground can do so by walking through the East Paddock South once they have entered the ground.

The club also advises that due to the increased attendance at home matches seats are selling very quickly and those who wish to sit down at games should book their tickets as soon as possible.
