CHILDREN at St Thomas's CE Primary School, in St Annes, have been learning about the benefits of home cooking after a special visit to Greens restaurant in the town.
Manager and owner of Greens, Paul Webster, said the visit was the school's third cooking lesson, which they hold once every six weeks.
He said: "We had the children from the reception class rolling out biscuits and decorating them, and we got them to make fresh pasta as well. The idea is to get them involved in cooking because everyone is so used to fast food nowadays."
He went on to say that both his children are pupils at the school and, because of the lack of kitchen facilities there, he is only too happy to help out.
"It gives pupils a chance to learn something extra, and hopefully one day they might come and work for me!" he added.
