Drive and Stroll, with Ron Freethy

MR E L Proctor, of Pleckgate, Blackburn, has written to suggest a possible route for a drive and stroll.

He mentions that there are several stopping points where on occasions hen harriers may be seen hunting:

"First proceed to Slaidburn, then take the road which skirts Stocks Reservoir on the left (or west) bank. Continue until you reach the moors where the road goes up and down twice and you are heading for Higher Bentham -- due north -- where you can turn left or right. The moors resemble the Trough of Bowland but here are more extensive.

"Most people will know the road through Rathmel, which is to the right of the village."

Mr Proctor suggests that this route would make an ideal Drive and Stroll article, with lots of suitable areas for photographs. I will certainly follow his advice.
