ANGRY Radcliffe Borough boss Bernard Manning Jnr. has blasted local radio station Tower FM for letting listeners believe he was ready to shelve plans to sell the club.

The Boro chairman was interviewed by the station on Monday and was heard to say he might be ready to change his mind.

But Manning told the Radcliffe Times: "They were more Tower's words than mine.

"I was asked if, with the recent run of results and our involvement in the FA Cup, I had thought about changing my mind about selling the club.

"I said 'I must admit it has given me a different view of things -- but it could all stop tomorrow if we are knocked out by Burscough.'

"They didn't use that last bit and I was a bit annoyed that listeners might have got the wrong idea. Really, nothing has changed.

"I was pleased with the number of people that turned up at Burscough and the encouragement they gave the team was fabulous. And if we do go on to play York and it brings in some good money then it will put a different slant on things. But an offer of £250,000 would still get you a deal for the club.

"The club's profile has gone up ten-fold in the last few days and if we do get through to play York I expect there will be lots more exposure from TV and the media in general."

But going back to the sale of the club, Manning added: "There have been no bids yet, not a soul. They are all into feasibility studies."
