RADCLIFFE Borough are aiming for a cup double over the next five days, writes Steve Bott.

The Boro take on Leek at Harrison Park in the FA Trophy on Saturday and just over 48 hours later entertain Burscough in the big one -- the FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay (kick-off Monday 7.45pm), the outcome of which will be decided on the night.

Tuesday night's original replay date was washed out by the weather. A lunchtime pitch inspection at Stainton Park on Tuesday ruled the waterlogged pitch unplayable.

That leaves Boro with the big two and manager Kevin Glendon declared: "It will be tough with the size of squad we have got, but we will give it our best shot.

"I've no option but to go along with the fixtures and the dates set for them. Ideally, I would like to see the Burscough replay being on a Tuesday, to give any injured players from Saturday a little more time to recover, but I have no option.

"Burscough is a big, big game with the prospect of playing York City in the first round proper of the FA Cup, but Leek is also a big game.

"They sacked their manager a couple of weeks ago, but they are another Premier Division club."

Boro have a fully fit squad to choose from, barring goalkeeper Steve Berryman, who is still recovering from his shoulder injury, but young current No.1, Danny Hurst, will be available after completing his week-long trial with Premier League outfit Manchester City.

On the sale of the club, Glendon added: "Bernard might have said a couple of things on the radio that were taken the wrong way, but if we could get more games like the one we had at Burscough with the fans responding like they did it would be fabulous.

"If we had had what we had at Burscough at Stainton park it would be tremendous. We have even had some phone calls from Bury fans who went to Burscough because of the magic of the FA Cup asking us to stage more games on a Friday night at Radcliffe so they could come along and watch. "I think we will get a decent crowd on Monday night. Everybody is hyped up and there is a huge reward if we can win it.

"We will give it everything we have got and if the town gets behind us it will be fabulous. I am sure they will see a good game and get value for money whatever happens," added Glendon.
