SAFETY-conscious youngsters with an artistic flair put their talents to good use to get over a Bonfire Night message.
The children, all from junior schools in Blackburn, created posters about bonfire and firework safety for a competition organised by the police.
Sponsorship came from McDonald's and WH Smith and prize-winning youngsters were given certificates and gifts for the best posters.
The overall winner was 10-year-old Irfan Patel, whose poster will be displayed in several shops which sell fireworks in Blackburn.
PC Eileen Smithson, one of the schools and youth liaison officers involved in organising the event, was at the prize presentation held at McDonald's in Blackburn.
