POINTED hats, black cats and vampire fangs were the order of the day at a Hallowe'en event for "little monsters".
Organised by Bury Countryside Service, children of all ages dressed up as their favourite "spooky" characters to join the fun at Philips Park in Whitefield.
The "ghostly gathering" for witches and wizards took the Hallowe'en group from the safety of the park's play area on a witches quest among the trees.
Children had to follow clues around the course and they took part in a number of activities based on an environmental theme.
Countryside ranger Nicky Bailey (pictured) got into the spirit of things with three-year-old Samantha Burney.
Organiser Kathryn Fairclough, a countryside ranger, said: "We had more than 40 children sign up for the event, which we do every year.
"It encourages youngsters to explore the countryside but with the added fun of dressing up for Halloween."
