A CALLOUS thief has robbed a 92-year-old woman of £100 cash after ransacking her house.

At around noon on October 23 the thief gained entry to the property in Edale Court, Preston where he proceeded to go through the drawers in all her rooms.

He was disturbed by the occupant and made off.

He is described as 18 years old, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins, slim, wearing a plain navy blue jacket.

Thieves have given the police the cold shoulder after escaping with almost £9,000 of electrical equipment from a storage area at the Apollo 2000 store in Ribbleton Lane, Preston.

Equipment, including a number of Bosch and Zanussi fridge freezers, LEC fridges, a Diedritch oven and New World cookers were all stolen overnight on October 21/22. A young woman had her handbag ripped from her shoulder as a thief raced past her down Grafton Street, Preston on October 23.

At around 6.45pm while the young woman was walking, the thug grabbed her handbag, containing £70 cash and cash cards, and in the process tore her jacket.

He then pushed her to the ground and made off down Grafton Street, away from Fishergate.

He is described as 18-19, 5ft 9ins, broad shoulders, wearing a white baseball cap, possibly with marking on the front, a black zip-up fleece sports top and black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the side.

Tool thieves have stolen an orange Stihl saw valued at £500 on October 23 at around 2.15pm.

One man is described as 25, 6ft and wearing casual clothing and they were driving a red Vauxhall Astra van, possibly F-reg with a light blue offside wing.

The serial number of the tool is 1411344374.
