BURNLEY'S "champions of sport" will be invited to a civic lunch with the mayor to recognise their achievements.
Councillors voted to send letters of congratulations to Olympic gymnast Craig Heap, British Superbike champion Neil Hodgson and Paralympic marathon silver medallist Mark Brown for bringing sporting glory to the town.
The council will also invite Mrs Margaret Potts, widow of Burnley FC's most successful manager Harry Potts, to lead the unveiling ceremony when Brunshaw Road at Turf Moor is renamed Harry Potts Way in his honour.
