HOT on the heels of TNT's hat trick of Motor Transport customer care "Oscars", TNT Ramsbottom depot is celebrating another success.

The local operators have won a prestigious UK accolade: the Management Today/Unisys Service Excellence Award 2000.

At a ceremony at the Savoy Hotel, London, judges commented: "If service excellence is viewed as a journey, then the vehicle in front most likely has TNT Express Service emblazoned on its sides."

TNT won both its own business-to-business category and then beat 19 other category winners to scoop the overall award. The company is the only business in the history of the scheme to receive the award twice.

Judges looked at five areas: understanding customers, operational effectiveness, engaging people, organisational agility and vision, values and leadership.
