THE girls from the Horseshoe Inn in Radcliffe were celebrating a huge success in the pool world this week.
For the girls, who go under the title of the Swinton Sharks, have won the National Ladies Inter League Championships.
Competing in Great Yarmouth in their third attempt at the crown, they were determined to go one better than their previous runners-up spots.
They marched through the first four rounds on the first day unbeaten then knocked out last year's winners, London Ladies, 8-7 in the quarter-finals.
Stone Van Hire from the Midlands were next to bite the dust, going down 8-4 to the Sharks, who then sank their teeth into Taunton, their opponents in those previous two finals, and again emerged 8-4 victors.
The Sharks are made up of Donna Buterworth, Sue Pilling, Sharon Nuttall, Marie Chrystal, Elaine Crawley, Paula Dobson, Vanessa Schweitzer, Julia Kenny, Sheila Hagan and Ruth Hollands.
