I AM currently developing a major year long educational series for Channel 4 about British Asians and marriage in your region.
Two of the films are already in production but one has hit a stumbling block.
The programme in question intends to follow a couple who are in a mixed race relationship, where one of the partners may be from a traditional Asian background and the other from a traditional white-English background.
Ideally, I would like to talk to couples who are in love, who have come together despite the odds and want to get married, but who may be having to deal with suspicion and hostility from their families and others.
This film aims to gain an insight into 'East meets West' and the often cultural clashes that exist around mixed marriage.
I am also keen to hear from parents whose son or daughter may be involved in a mixed relationship, as I am keen to understand their worries and concerns.
All conversations are confidential. Citizen readers can call me on 079 795 94516.
