I AM writing to express my anger and disappointment regarding last Friday night's match between Preston North End and Barnsley -- and I'm not talking about the result!

What really upset and angered me, and many supporters sat around me, was the many hundreds of so-called 'fans' that started walking out of the ground with about a quarter of an hour left of the game.

OK, so Preston didn't play that well on the night and they were a goal down but surely your home team -- playing at home in front of the Sky TV cameras -- deserve better support.

As I sat in the Tom Finney stand, I couldn't help but think back to two years ago when Manchester United played in the Champions League final and George Best left the ground and missed United's two goals in two minutes to famously lift the cup!

Preston's are well known across the country for their tremendous support both home and away.

So, the next time you so-called 'fans' leave with just a few minutes left, just think of either George Best being "sick as a parrot" or the irrepressible Ron Atkinson saying: "At the end of the day, it's a game of two halves, and it's not over until the fat lady sings!"

A real fan, Broadgate, Preston
