OF course the MEPs, because of their lucrative vested interest in the EU, are keen to keep Britain in this dubious club. They refer constantly to "benefits" accruing to Britain from our membership, but none of them ever tell us what these benefits are. Surely, if benefits existed they would be shouted from the rooftops instead of merely being hinted at.

Is loss of sovereignty a benefit? Is being a net contributor a benefit, or having a huge trade deficit?

Do not be deceived by the Eurofanatics -- we are being taken to the cleaners by the EU, which is interested only in our money, like our £40m per day membership fee, our gold reserves, and especially our pension funds, which will be used to "harmonise" the pensions of the less prosperous members of the EU. Should this come about, and we allow ourselves to be led into the shambles by the Judas rams of the EU Parliament, then we can kiss goodbye to the prospect of any increase in our hard-earned pensions -- both state and private -- and more likely suffer a reduction, because when all the free-loading, poverty-stricken nations of Eastern Europe join the club, there will just not be enough money to go round.

This is the main "benefit" that will be bestowed upon us if we continue to dally with Europe -- the marriage so far has been disastrous. A decree absolute is long overdue.
