BLACKBURN boss Graeme Souness and his squad nearly had to man the lifeboats at their Brockhall Training Camp this week.

After days of torrential rain, Rovers' Ribble Valley hideaway nearly got cut-off by the floods at one point.

Police sealed off roads in the surrounding area after the floodwaters rose to dangerous levels and Rovers were told to evacuate before they got cut-off completely.

And today's visiting manager Andy Kilner thought he was up the creek without a paddle!

Red tape A CERTAIN Clarets-mad member of the national press was left looking a little red-faced at yesterday's weekly press conference at Brockhall.

Just as Rovers boss Graeme Souness was launching into his reasons for signing Brad Friedel, this particular scribe's dictaphone slipped out of his hands like a bar of soap and smashed on the floor.

Our Souey was quick to see the funny side, however, quipping 'I hope Brad Friedel's handling is better than that.'

FORMER Take-That star Robbie Williams appears to have a new cult following among the playing staff at Ewood Park.

Last week, injured strikers Matt Jansen and Nathan Blake were seen at Robbie's gig at the MEN Arena.

That followed hot on the heels of Simon Grayson and Jason McAteer reportedly being seen at a similar gig on the same tour recently.

Birthday plans BLACKBURN Rovers are planning a bumper weekend of celebrations to mark the club's 125th anniversary later this month.

On Saturday November 18, Rovers will entertain old rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in a Nationwide Division One clash.

They will play in an exclusive one-off '125' shirt, modelled on the original Rovers kit.

And, as well as the entertainment on the pitch, there will also be Victorian themed activities around the ground pre-match and at half-time.

Rovervision will present a multimedia show spanning the years, incorporating many former Rovers heroes appearing live.

And on the Sunday, the club will throw open its doors for a special open day and the players will train on the pitch.
