JAMIE Livesey was breathalysed after being stopped outside his home in Painter Wood, Billington, after running a friend home in the early hours of the morning.
Blackburn magistrates heard earlier Livesey, a restaurateur at the Freemasons, Wiswell, had been out bowling with friends and they had hired a minibus so they could have a drink. Livesey, 25, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. He was fined £160 with £55 costs and disqualified from driving for 12 months. He agreed to be referred to the drink drivers rehabilitation programme which, if completed successfully, could earn him a 25 per cent reduction in his disqualification.
Michael Singleton, defending, said after the night out Livesey had been dropped off at home with a younger friend who he thought was staying the night. It transpired that the youth was expected home by his parents. At 1am my client was faced with a dilemma," said Mr Singleton. "He basically trusted to luck that the alcohol had gone through his system."
