THE delight on the faces of the Radcliffe Boro players says it all!

Our photographer Steve Holt captured the Stainton Park lads in celebratory mood seconds after Saturday's 2-1 victory over UniBond Premier Division side Burscough in their Axa-sponsored FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay.

Goals from Simon Carden and Neil Hardy (below right) took Boro now into the first round proper for the first time in the club's history.

And the game against Nationwide League Third Division York City goes ahead at Bury's Gigg Lane ground on Sunday (kick-off 3pm) despite an eleventh hour bid to keep the game at Stainton Park.

"We had originally decided to got to Bury if we beat Burscough, but one or two of the players and some of the supporters asked us to try and keep it at Stainton Park," said Boro boss Kevin Glendon.

"We looked into it and had talks with the police and the local council and while they were happy for us to stage it here, the costs of paying police and making one or two minor adjustments round the ground made it unrealistic."

Glendon must try and keep his players feet on the ground for tonight's home FA Umbro Trophy first round replay against Leek Town (kick-off 7.45pm), but with the prospect of another bumper gate in the next round with a home game against Accrington Stanley on the cards on Saturday December 2 the players shouldn't need too much motivating.

Admission prices for Sunday's FA Cup-tie at Gigg Lane are £10 for adults and £5 for juniors and OAPs in all sections of the ground. The game is not all-ticket and spectators can pay on the gate on the day of the game.
