CAN readers aid my research into my family tree with information regarding the Slater family of 28 Wellington Street, All Saints, Clayton-le-Moors, as per the 1881 census?
The family, who may have had a haberdashery shop, were: the father, Thomas, aged 40; his wife, Elizabeth, aged 38; daughters Elizabeth, 13, Martha, 12, and Alice, 9, and son Thomas, two.
Martha married a William Waterworth and their daughter, Henrietta -- my great grandmother -- was born on March 26 1893, at 2 Stock Road, Clayton-le-Moors, and christened at All Saints Church on April 19 1893.
Martha and William put her up for adoption and they then emigrated to the USA.
