APPARENTLY Crystal Palace defender Neil Ruddock cops a club fine every time he tips the scales at over 17-stone.
The clause was reportedly written into his contract when he moved from West Ham to Selhurst Park in the summer.
It wasn't made clear, however, whether the former Southampton and Liverpool hardman is weighed with or without his wallet, which must be pretty full if Palace can afford to pay even half of loan signing Steve Staunton's reported £20,000-plus weekly pay packet.
