ROVERS have a defender who's attracting interest in the shape of Marlon Broomes.

Broomes is on loan at QPR but is also being tracked by a number of other First Division clubs.

The 22-year-old hasn't handed in a formal transfer request but has slipped down the pecking order at Ewood, alerting some of Rovers' Division One rivals.

Rovers chief executive John Williams confirmed: "We have had some interest from First Division clubs.

"And if anything serious develops we will talk to him about it and the other club.

"What this shows is how important it is to try and get players who aren't figuring out on loan. It's in everybody's interest."
