ANIMAL lover, Haresfinch (Dear Star, November 2) is quite right in her statement about the prolonged effects of Bonfire Night.
As I write my dog, too, is in the most appalling state of terror, while a sick pony stabled and unable to flee races round the stable in blind terror.
It is useless to appeal to people to stop. Far better to try through the powers-that-be to have it restricted. Two nights at most would please most people.
As Charles Darwin said "the most notable attribute of man is the love for all living creatures." Unfortunately, it's a quality lacking in some.
