IN reply to Animal Lover, Haresfinch (Dear Star, November 2), I am also sick and tired of listening to fireworks day and night, for two weeks before November 5 and six weeks afterwards.
Like Animal Lover, I would like to know when this stupid, brainless British institution is going to end. I have written to the Home Office about it, but they don't support my view. Somehow I don't think the local authority would do anything either.
Thousands of dogs and cats, not to metion birds, are traumatised by the noise, because their hearing is far more sensitive than ours. the bonfires make a stink and hundreds of children are injured or burned (occasionally blinded) every year.
I would like to know how long it is going to be before the people of this country grow up, and this mindless farce is banned.
