ANOTHER year of academic success and maintaining high standards of pupil behaviour has been enjoyed at Clitheroe's Moorland School.
Speaking at the annual prize giving, headteacher Mrs Muriel Ashcroft praised students for their excellent examination achievements -- 100 per cent of year-11 pupils passed in five or more subjects at grades A to C. Mrs Ashcroft said: "This truly reflects the hard work of pupils and the dedicated teaching of all our staff."
But it is not just academic results which the school prides itself on. Mrs Ashcroft told the audience of pupils, staff, governors and special guests: "We have a reputation for offering more than academic success, for valuing and developing the whole person and instilling values that will last. Standards of behaviour, appearance and uniform must be maintained and the proper goal of education recognised -- the enabling of an individual to fulfil his or her potential and the laying down of sure foundations for a happy and fulfilling life."
