PROMOTION talisman Ian Wright is back at Turf Moor.

But Burnley boss Stan Ternent is warning the fans not to get over-excited.

The former England striker has been spotted training with the Clarets to spark a fresh outbreak of Wright fever.

However, a comeback isn't on the cards at this stage with Ternent insisting he's just catching up with old friend Mitchell Thomas and his former team-mates.

"Everybody's been on to me about that. But every now and again when Ian's up to see Mitchell he comes into training. That's all it is," he said.

Wright's four vital goals helped the Clarets clinch promotion on the last day of the season following his sensational switch from Celtic in February.

The former England international then carried out his intention to hang up his boots and concentrate on a full-time television career.

Ternent felt the 37-year-old stilll had something to offer and had hoped to talk the player round.

But there are no plans for an imminent return to action.

"No chance," added the boss.
