A PUB which closed after the death of its landlord is due to reopen with a new look and a new name.
The Star and Garter on the Boulevard in Blackburn closed in August after licensee Dave Stewart was found hanged in the living quarters.
The pub, next to the railway station, has since undergone a refurbishment costing thousands of pounds and is due to reopen next week.
Brewey bosses at Thwaites' said the pub will be called The Boulevard and will be run by experienced landlady 32-year-old Michaela Harrington.
The pub is believed to have a Mediterranean theme and staff are hoping to attract businesspeople and young, trendy customers.
Michaela, also lease holder of the Swan Hotel, Blackburn, and licensee at the Guild Tavern, Preston, said: "It's a brilliant site for a pub and we want to attract day-time custom and shoppers who can come in for a cup of tea or coffee or something to eat."
A VIP night will be held on Wednesday November 22 followed by an official launch the next day.
