ST HELENS sea cadet Matthew Williams has become the first ever Lance Corporal in the unit's new Marine Cadet detachment.
Fifteen year old Matthew, from Sutton, has been attending the Sea Cadet Unit, which is based in Volunteer Street, St Helens, for two years and was awarded his chevron by Lt. Commander (SCC) Arthur Kelsall, the area staff training officer. He was also congratulated by his officer-in-charge, Sgt. Graham Edwards of the Marine Corp detachment.
