TIME is running out for Prescot Shopping Centre's ornate clock which has been in place since the centre was built 11 years ago.
For centre bosses plan to replace the clock with a modern, state-of-the-art version which they are calling on shoppers to help design.
Centre manager Debra Stout believes the new clock will be a real boost for shoppers as the old one hasn't worked properly for some time. She said: "For many years it did a wonderful job but now we are going to replace it with something much more modern and up-to-date."
Next year, the centre plan to launch a competition calling on shoppers to have a say in the design of the new clock by submitting their own ideas of what it should look like. The winner will not only see their design become a reality, but will be invited as a guest of honour at the new clock's official unveiling ceremony.
