ST HELENS-based charity, the HELP Project, which aims to help local people experiencing debt, homelessness or unemployment, is planning to host a series of seminars to prevent financial problems arising.

The first will look at money management and ways people can avoid accumulating crippling debts. It is aimed at a mixed audience and anyone experiencing financial difficulties or who knows someone who is and would like some helpful advice, is welcome. They are also appealing for people interested in learning more about the charity with a view to getting involved and helping others on a regular basis.

The seminar, presented by a money guidance officer from the Citizens Advice Bureau, will be completely confidential and no one will be asked what their own circumstances are. However, people will be on hand should anyone wish to discuss their particular situation.

The HELP Project intend to hold future seminars on marriage problems, parenting and stress management.

The Money Management seminar will take place at the St Helens YMCA in North Road between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, November 18 and a light lunch is provided. To book your place or get more details, contact the HELP Project office on (01744) 633999.
