THOSE who organised Blackburn's Remembrance Day commemorations deserve a big thank-you.
The Cathedral and Cenotaph services were poignant and struck the right note. Particularly moving was the participation of so many young people.
I was very reassured by the presence of so many young army, navy and sea cadets in the town centre, helping the British Legion to raise the awareness of the sacrifices made by the armed forces during periods of conflict.
Seeing those young people alongside active service veterans marching to the cenotaph -- some wearing the medals of their fathers and grandfathers -- should make us all very proud.
