REGARDING the remarks of Mr D Holmes (Letters, November 14) about parking, I think it is an absolute insult having to pay to park your own car at your own door -- and, in his case, it's not even his front door, but the back one.
Ten pounds for a resident's parking permit is a lot of money to a pensioner. And it is £10 too much for anyone to have to pay to park their own car at their own door.
If, as Mr Holmes states, a problem only arises when Blackburn Rovers are at home, let the club pick up the tab. After all, it is less than the price of a seat to watch a game.
I think Mr Holmes has every right to feel he is being unfairly treated by the council. It's really extra road tax he's paying.
