Here are the Ewood heroes who will return on Saturday:

Harry McShane: Played first game for Rovers on Christmas Day 1937 and appeared in wartime football. Now 80 years of age.

Jack Campbell: "Nudger" appeared in over 200 games for Rovers after joining the club from Liverpool after the Second World War in 1945 and scored 20 goals.

Ronnie Clayton: Played his first game at 16 and went on to make well over 500 games, and became captain of England and won 35 caps.

Bryan Douglas: One of the club's greats as a winger and an inside forward, played in over 500 games and won 36 England caps.

Matt Woods: Joined Rovers in 1956 from Everton and went on to play in over 300 games for the club including the Cup Final of 1960.

Harry Leyland: The ever-popular goalkeeper, the hero of the 1960 cup semi-final win, also came from Everton in 1956, and made nearly 200 appearances.

Fred Pickering: Local lad who captained the Youth Cup winning team of 1959 and became one of the best centre forwards in the country, scoring 74 goals in 134 appearances for the club and was capped for England after joining Everton.

Dave Whelan: Another Rovers youth product who broke a leg in the 1960 Cup Final, which curtailed a very promising career. Now the owner of Wigan Athletic and founder of JJB Sports empire.

George Sharples: Another signing from Everton, he came to Ewood in 1965 and played over 100 times for the club.

Kevin Hird: One of the most skilful full backs who played in 150 games for Rovers before joining Leeds for a record £357,000 fee in 1979. John Bailey: Another Ewood apprentice who went on to win England B caps and a Cup winners medal with Everton in 1984. Played well over 100 games for Rovers.

Derek Fazackerley: "Faz" became an institution at the club by achieving the magnificent record of 671 appearances. Went on to become a coach at Newcastle and also at Ewood for a spell before joining the recent England set-up under Kevin Keegan.

Stuart Metcalfe: Another local lad who was a member of the 1975 Division Three championship team. Played in over 350 games for the club and is still involved with the club on match days.

Simon Garner: The "King of the Blackburn End" who came through the juniors to become the all-time record goalscorer with 168 league goals from 1978 to 1992.

Glenn Keeley: Commanding centre half and captain of the Full Members' Cup win at Wembley in 1987. Played over 400 times from 1976 to 1989.

Simon Barker: Came through the Rovers Apprenticeship scheme to figure over 160 games and was man of the match in the Full Members Cup win of 1987, before joining Queens Park Rangers in 1988.

Chris Price: First came to Ewood in 1986 and moved on to Aston Villa in 1988, he returned to Rovers in 1992 and scored some vital goals in the successful promotion run to the Premiership.

David Mail: Joined Rovers from Aston Villa in 1982 and made over 250 appearances which included a Full Members Cup win.

Kevin Moran: A great stalwart and captain of the promotion squad of 1992, he went on to play a vital role in the club's successful return to the top division, and appeared over 170 times from 1988 to 1994.

David Speedie: A player who achieved a cult status in his one season at Ewood which culminated in the Wembley play-off win. Undoubtedly his fighting spirit was the great inspiration to players and fans alike. Scored 26 goals in 41 games.

Vince O'Keefe: Came as understudy to Terry Gennoe. Starred in Full Members' Cup Final at Wembley.

Alan Ainscow: December 1985 on a non-contract basis. Signed full contract June 1987. Bustling midfielder who was at his best foraging for the ball and feeding it to the front men.
