TEENAGE smash and grab raiders got away with watches and jewellery valued at more than £1,000 from a town centre jewellers.

The youths, all aged about 15, used a large stone to smash a window at Woodworth's, Cross Street, Nelson.

They grabbed six gold watches and jewellery from the display and ran off towards Every Street.

Police are appealing for information about the youths, two Asians and one white, who struck at 3.30pm on Monday.

Two of them were in dark jackets, one was wearing a yellow bobble hat and one was in a red anorak.
