THE grandmother of a Blackpool baby who died tragically aged just 24 weeks has organised a special charity night in her honour.
Jill Fenton's granddaughter Courtney J Russell was born in December last year with severe cerebral palsy but, despite hopes she would survive, she passed away in her father's arms after 24 weeks.
The charity evening will raise money for the special baby care unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, where Courtney was looked after, as well as Trinity Hospice.
Jill said the night will take place at Thornton Sports and Social Club, Holly Road, on December 15 -- what would have been Courtney's 1st birthday. It will feature bingo, karaoke, live music, a raffle, tombola and an auction. There will also be a snooker knockout competition. If you're interested you will need to register by calling the club before November 27 on 854595. Admission to the charity night is by donation.
