BURY'S Indian international Baichung Bhutia loved every minute of last Saturday's Wycombe match - even though it was pouring with freezing rain and his side got beat!

Bhutia was just delighted to be playing again.

Even though he is an idol in India and captain of the national team, the Shakers striker has suffered a long spell on the substitutes bench since losing his place in the side earlier this season.

He made his first start on Saturday since September 30 when Bury beat Swansea 2-0.

And despite the weather and the scoreline he loved it.

"I enjoyed playing and I need to play more games now to get more experience," said Bhutia.

"I played in a wide right role against Wycombe and we tried a new formation which I thought worked well.

"We passed the ball well and all we've got to do now is start scoring goals."

On Saturday he will get a taste of another English tradition, when he plays in the FA Cup against Northwich Victoria.

However, he says that he and his team-mates must not underestimate the non-league team.

"It is going to be a very hard game and we will need to play well to beat them," said Bhutia. "It will be a different type of game to the one we are normally used to and I am looking forward to it."
