CUSTOMS and Excise staff in Blackburn donned their overalls and picked up their paintbrushes to give a homeless hostel a fresh new look.
The painting and decorating session was organised by Customs and Excise administration staff and the Blackburn Partnership, who promote the economic and social regeneration of Blackburn with Darwen.
A team of 11 people set to work on the house on Laburnum Road in Little Harwood, giving the interior a bright and colourful new look. The house is run by the Night Safe Trust, who provide temporary accommodation for young homeless people aged between 16 to 25.
Customs and Excise text creator Letita Duguid, who helped organise the workers, said: "We got a team together and collected lampshades, bulbs for the garden and all sorts of stuff."
