COMING soon after apologies were issued over councillors at Hyndburn being overpaid in error, it is revealed today that, under a proposed new system, their allowances could go up by as much as nine times.
If they are to pay them a lot more, the public will want a perceivable improvement in council services -- if not a nine-fold enhancement of them.
