PUPILS at Park View CP School put in double the effort to raise a whopping £1,637 for the NSPCC.
With just over 400 children at the Prestwich school, organisers expected them to report back with a couple of pounds each.
Deputy headteacher Mr Tony Knipe said: "We thought £2 per child was a reasonable amount to expect which would have raised a nice sum of £800 but they have doubled it.
"It is superb. We are very impressed with their efforts. They have raised way beyond our expectations."
Each pupil was given a sheet based on children's safety to take home and study.
They were sponsored for finding safe and dangerous situations marked on the sheet.
