PUPILS from Derby High School were among several Bury representatives at Monday's (Nov 13) Young World Concert 2000 at Manchester's MEN Arena.
The special performance was aimed at raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The Derby High School choir of 49 girls and 15 boys, aged 13 to 16, earlier put the finishing touches to their repertoire, which included a medley of songs from Abba, Grease, Oliver and the Beatles.
They were put through their final paces at the school by Mrs Janet Desprez, head of music.
She said: "Our pupils jumped at the chance to sing for the children of Great Ormond Street Hospital, because youth and good health are so precious."
Other schools represented at the concert included Broad Oak High School, Greenmount CP, Guardian Angels RC, Heap Bridge Village Primary, All Saints, Whitefield, Butterstile CP, Prestwich High and St Monica's High.
