Lytham Ladies 3 Springfields 0 TO ENHANCE their position in the Premier Division of the Lancashire Central Womens Hockey League Lytham took the lead after a bright start.

This came when Lian Atkinson picked up a through ball from Michelle Singleton and cooly rounded the keeper before slotting the ball home.

To round off a solid first half Ruth Blackburn scored the second goal after some very good centre mid-field play.

Lytham continued to dominate in the second half and Jenny Leng found the net by diverting a good Kelly Ferguson shot into goal.

Lytham remained dominant in defence with a commanding performance by Kerry Hunt, Rachel Paraziale and Jenny Reid. Lythem Ladies 2nd XI 3 Springfields 0 LYTHAM went to Southport a weakened squad than usual and felt the pressure from a well organised team.

They were mainly on the defensive in the first half with Lorna Leach and Sue Wood battling to keep control.

Despite many excellent saves from Lisa Brown, Southport went 3-0 up by half-time playing some excellent set play.
