AN ASTLEY restaurant serves the best fare in town -- according to readers of the Journal and Journal Midweek.
A competition run in both newspapers asked readers to vote for their favourite eatery.
And Rendezvous 1, of Higher Green Lane, won hands down.
Manager David Woolliscroft and head chef David Joyce were presented with a commemorative plaque by Journal advertising executive Anouska Pearl.
A lucky reader who voted for his favourite restaurant in the Journal and Journal Midweek competition won a £20 meal at the Rendezvous 1.
A delighted Kenneth Daniels, of Lower Green Lane, Astley, was presented with the voucher after his name was drawn in a raffle.
