ONCE again the Sunday League are trailblazers in the campaign to bring better treatment for players who are injured, playing the game they love.
In an unprecedented move, the football authorities have organised first aid classes at the home of the Lancashire FA at Leyland and every team is sending a representative to receive training.
Also, first aid kits are being issued to every club, a revolutionary move in amateur soccer and PNE's physiotherapist has also given his valuable advice in the treatment of injuries.
Last season the Citizen wrote an article on Peter Collier on his superb ability to knock in goals, he finished the season with 64 goals. A remarkable feat at any level of football.
Unfortunately, Peter is no longer with the Lions, to loose a player of his quality should have had a major effect on Brookfield Lions' chances of progress on gaining promotion to Division Three in their first season in the League.
But Brookfields seem to breed survivors! Already, this season has seen the emergence of Tony Brazil who has struck 15 goals, 11 in the League and four in the Cup, in only ten games, so it would appear the Lions have once again hit the jackpot as far as goal scorers are concerned.
