STAFF, parents and youngsters at a Blackburn nursery did a great job filling shoe boxes for charity -- managing more than 50 in one week.

The Nook Barn Nursery on Nook Lane in Cherry Tree put out the appeal for people to fill boxes with goods for the Operation Christmas Child Appeal which send them on to children in war-torn countries. Among items in the boxes were toys, confectionery, toiletries and clothing. They will be distributed before Christmas.

A spokesman for Nook Barn said they were delighted with the response they had receive
